St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School first graders get a close glimpse at our world through the mail. Parents, grandparents and friends who live in other cities, states and countries, or those who travel and visit new places, have accepted the fun challenge to send postcards to the classes. “First graders love mail.” says Caroline Danysh, a first grade teacher at SAOPCS. “Our goal is to have our children gain knowledge about our world’s continents, countries, and oceans. We will also be learning about The United States, Texas, and The Woodlands. As we explore these interesting places, both far and near, we will be focusing on map skills.” Both Mrs. Danysh’s and Mrs. Maria Smith’s first grade classes are receiving the post cards. Mrs. Danysh’s class, alone, has received over 150. One has come from as far away as Australia.
