DAILY ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
Our carpool system is designed to provide safe access for student arrival and dismissal. We want to thank everyone in advance for your cooperation in following procedures. We also want to thank all of wonderful parent volunteers for their help with arrivals and dismissals. They will be glad to assist you.
Beginning on Wednesday, August 26th students in 1
st-3
rd should be dropped off and walk to their classrooms. PreK and K parents are encouraged to use drop off as soon as their children are comfortable doing so. Students must be in their classroom at 8:00 AM or 12:15 PM for afternoon PreK. After 8:00 or 12:15, parents must accompany students to the office to sign in and receive an admit slip.
Morning tardies will be issued beginning the day after Labor Day. This gives families and staff a chance to work out glitches in schedules, procedures, etc. That will also be the day when parents will need to sign in at the front desk before walking tudents to class.
Students are not allowed to leave with anyone other than their assigned carpool at dismissal without permission from a parent/guardian. Phone calls to the office for dismissal changes should be of an emergency nature and not regular routine. Display carpool signs with the large bold numbers facing outward to they can be read easily. Enter carpool lines from the rear only, remain in your vehicle, and refrain from cell phone use while in the carpool line. If you are picking up students through personal pickup, have your key tags or carpool sign for identification. If you do not have them, you may be asked for identification. Once students are picked up they need to be directly supervised by a parent or adult. Middle school students must have an ID tag to be released through Park & Walk. Bike riders and walkers must have an ID tag to be released.
Be prepared—dismissal during the first few days of school may be long, and hot. We may also see weather dismissals for rain or heat advisories. Once we establish the routine, dismissal will improve. Your cooperation in following procedures and guidelines will make things run more smoothly.
One dismissal sign is issued to each family. New families are required to watch the carpool video on the website and turn in a signed acknowledgement form. Additional signs can be purchased for $2 through the school office. We will not load cars through the carline without dismissal signs. If you do not have a dismissal sign, you will be directed to Personal Pickup. If you have not received your carpool dismissal sign, please contact the office.
Parents arriving for 4
th-8
th grade dismissal should not arrive prior to 3:30 to avoid delays or create safety concerns for 3:15 dismissal. Vehicles that arrive earlier will be directed to a waiting area until 3:30. Families are assigned to dismissal based on the age of the oldest child in the family. Families assigned to 3:15 dismissal have green stickers on their carline sign for recognition.
