Special Fundraiser - Help Needed for One of Our Own
HELP NEEDED FOR ONE OF OUR OWN… Last March was a turning point in the lives of Cathy Wogan (Learning Support Teacher) and her family. Cathy’s 28 year old son, Max Misamore, became very ill. After multiple doctor visits and unsuccessful treatments, it was discovered that Max’s liver enzymes were very elevated and he was placed in the intensive care unit at Saint Luke’s Hospital in The Medical Center. His liver continued to fail and he was placed on the transplant list. On June 4
th, after being hospitalized for several months, Max received a liver transplant. The surgery was successful, however, Max had seizures shortly after the transplant and the doctors are still trying to figure out what caused the liver failure and why he is having neurological issues. Max has been in and out of the hospital for most of the past 6 months. He is now receiving rehabilitation at Saint Luke’s as he is unable to walk. Cathy is a single mother and she has spent almost the entire 6 months at the hospital with Max. She has missed more than a month of work days and is continually incurring expenses daily for travel, parking, meals, and care for her son. This has created a financial hardship for her family. Max’s recovery is not over and his prognosis is unknown at this time. The faculty and staff are asking everyone in our school community to come together in support of Ms. Wogan through prayers and participation in a Free Dress Day on November 4
th. For a donation of $5 or more, enjoy Free Dress on that day and the money collected will go to Ms. Wogan to help with some of the expenses she and her family have had during this very difficult time. We thank you in advance for your generous support!
