Parent Email - March 15

Dear Parents of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

We are officially beginning our distance learning program this week. As stated in a previous e-mail, parents may pick up textbooks/packets Monday afternoon (1pm – 3pm) or Tuesday morning (9am – 11am). Just a reminder that this is not a time for teacher conferences. Because materials are being picked up over two days, our first day of formal assignments will begin Tuesday, March 17^th. So that we can document our partnership and the completion of work at home, each family is required to submit one distance planning form per student per week to be returned to the homeroom teacher when campus is reopened. On this form (attached), you will see where you are asked to briefly document what is done each day and then total the approximate minutes and then sign off at the bottom. (Middle school students should fill this out themselves with parents signing when completed each day.) Please be sure to print the page that correlates with your child’s grade: Early Childhood (PK and K), Elementary (1^st – 5^th) and Middle School (6^th – 8^th).

Our amazing teachers have put much time and effort into making work meaningful for our students this upcoming week. They will be communicating with you Monday to share their expectations and communication plan. Please reach out to teachers directly with questions regarding work. Please also be patient as we all work towards making this new system work smoothly and efficiently.

In my relatively short time at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, I have been impressed by the support and understanding of our families. You have proven this yet again with this very challenging situation. I am incredibly grateful.

Finally, attached is a children’s reflection sheet and coloring page on today’s Gospel. This might be a good activity to include as a Religion activity for PK – 3^rd grade. Please continue to pray for all those impacted by the Coronavirus.
