Dear Parents of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,
Good afternoon! I want to share some reminders and updates this week….
1. First Quarter Learning Preference Survey: Please do not forget to complete the first quarter learning preference survey which can be found at: https://staopcs.org/student-learning-choice. Please complete as soon as possible to aid administration in planning. Deadline to complete is Friday, July 31st. At this point, approximately 1/3 of our families have completed the survey. To date, 88% have chosen on-campus learning. 12% have chosen remote learning.
2. Masks: We are now asking that all students, including PK and Kindergarten, purchase masks and begin to practice wearing them. At a minimum, all students will need to wear as they enter the building, leave the building and transition on campus. More specific mask directions will be based on the guidelines and recommendations available at the time of the opening of school in August.
3. Uniforms: In an effort to make uniforms more comfortable as we strive to spend more time outdoors and easier to wash in these times where we are taking extra precautions for cleaning, students have the option during the first quarter to wear school t-shirts along with uniform bottoms. Mass uniforms will not be required on Wednesdays until we return to celebrating the liturgy in our sanctuary.
4. Meet the Teacher: Our Meet the Teacher event will still take place on August 11th. This event will be virtual. More information to come.
5. Letter from Superintendent: Mrs. Debra Haney, Superintendent for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, has asked that the attached letter be sent to all Catholic school families.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding.
Let us continue to pray for all those impacted by COVID-19 and for the safety and health of all of our school families.
Only by His Grace,
Veronica D. Tucker
Principal
