St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School kindergarten students, Broderick Burke, Rafaela De Azevedo and Hannah Cook-Norris, call for beads during the school’s annual Mardi Gras parade. Kindergarten students pull the PreK3 and PreK4 year olds in decorated wagons in the gym while all other classes, 1
st through 8
th, come out to enjoy the moment.
As listed in Wikepedia, Mardi Gras also called Shrove Tuesday, or Fat Tuesday, in English, refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after the Christian feasts of the Epiphany (Three King's Day) and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.
